The Salford Catholic Schools Torch Relay of Prayer will countdown to the London Olympic Games 2012. It will travel over 300 miles and visit 210 schools.
Thorneyholme School has been chosen to start the relay. The Bishop of Salford will visit the school on Monday 28th November 2011 bringing the TORCH with him. He will pass it to a pupil ambassador and the whole school will then transport the TORCH to St Mary's School, on Tuesday 29th November 2011. The journey will finish in Manchester in the summer of 2012.
Each school has been paired with a country which will be taking part in the Olympic Games and our school has been paired with the Peoples' Republic of Korea. The pupils will research all there is to know about the people and country and pray for them and the success of the Olympic Games in London.
